If they wish, students may prepare a work-and-life experience portfolio which will be evaluated by qualified faculty members for college-equivalent credits. The college-equivalent credits are used in the Regents program to complete degree requirements. A fee of $300 will be charged regardless of the credits awarded. The same fee will be required each time students request subsequent evaluations.
Standard Awards
A standard award is an award of college credit based on a certificate, registry, diploma, licenses, etc. A standard award means that by virtue of having completed a usual course of study in some specialized area that involves college-level learning – but outside traditional college settings – you will be granted a specific, predetermined amount of credit. It should be noted that any subsequent college-level learning after acquiring the credential may also carry college credit – but it will probably require portfolio evaluation. Contact the RBA coordinator for more information.
